Mini guide to

Morzine

More than just a ski resort

Morzine is a traditional picturesque town situated in an area of the French Alps known as the ‘Portes du Soleil’ and lies just 40 miles east of Geneva, half way between Lac Leman and Mont Blanc.  Morzine was originally an old farming/market town steeped in history which has successfully retained much of its charm and character.

ON OFFER

Unlike a lot of ski resorts, Morzine is open all year round and has masses to offer both in winter and summer; the breathtaking terrain provides an unlimited playground for all to enjoy.  Skiing and snowboarding takes priority in the winter with 650km of marked piste plus extensive off-piste to keep even the most adventurous skier occupied.  In the summer, when the temperature averages above 26 degrees, Morzine transforms into a multi activity haven offering everything from adrenalin sports to more leisurely activities.  New this year is Morzine's first public indoor swimming pool due to be open in time for the winter season.

Other activities on offer in Morzine:

  • Mountain biking
  • Hiking
  • Road biking
  • White water rafting

Morzine is also a great base from which to explore the surrounding area. The spa towns of Evian and Thonon-les-Bains by the shore of Lac Leman are no more than 30 minutes drive.  Chamonix/Mont Blanc and the gorgeous medieval towns of Annecy and Yvoire also make fantastic days out.
